We don't wanna get along so we're going to let people die! :)

The VideoFor a while this was the video that was being talked about at the later part of last year. So from what I have gathered, the local government was having a hard time giving way for the national government to spearhead the relief operations.

The most important part of the 42 minute video is when the DILG secretary Roxas mentioned to Mayor Romualdez that since the president is an Aquino, and Romualdez is a Romualdez. The true context which not too many know is that Roxas said that statement because he did not want the president being seen as taking power from the local government.

It is very embarrassing that the history of two families will bicker over who will help people as the people starve to death. Even more embarrassing that the whole world had to step up to deliver assistance to the broken land. Roxas had no business even bringing that issue up, he should have been more professional and proactive in finding a solution to the problem at hand which is the calamity of Typhoon Yolanda.

With the local government being decimated by the water, it only makes sense that the national government could step up and take control of what is happening and be the dispatcher for all of the goods that is being sent from the countries all over the world. The national government could work with the local since the local is familiar the land and expedite the process of sending relief.

Too many other problems come up though with this calamity which is even more disgusting. Taxing donations that people are giving to help, and the repacking and selling of the actual relief goods just for the sake of keeping the imported goods and making a quick buck of course. It makes a person want to vomit and cry at the same time. With a problem of this magnitude, one would think the UN could step in or some kind of third party would be able to handle the situation. In my opinion I would want the WALMART company to handle the logistics because they have speed and efficiency down to a science, and it doesn't hurt to mention they have the ability to handle the logistics of the U.S. Military.

So what it boils down to is, the people that have a history of rivalry need to work together to beat the greater enemy. They can not really do it alone so they need to really get some integrity and class and just work together. It is like in the movies when the bad guys and the good guys have to work together to beat up an even bigger bad guy. It happens in X-Men, GI Joe and even Fast and the Furious.
